Sorry to hear you folks are going through this. I understand living in a stinking Liberal state myself.
So do you think Magpul will make good on their promise to relocate?
I applaud them for their public fight and no compromise.
Compromise is a good thing, and should be praised. Finding common ground to agree with someone is important, necessary and good. Compromise inherently involves give and take; but in this case the other side never gave, the discussion revolved around how much they were going to take.
That being said, this bill was never about compromise; it was about "how much of our lunch money the schoolyard bully was going to take."
I suppose Colorado politicians were willing to compromise by allowing Magpul to continue manufacturing high (standard) capacity 30 round magazine for sale in other states, providing they are not sold to Colorado citizens. I suppose CO politicians feel it's okay to sell these mass murder killing magazine to citizens in other states, but not to Colorado citizens. That my friend is true hypocrisy.
So, did they add the amendment into the bill that allows for the manufacture of 15+ round magazines? I remember reading it was not in the original bill, but was to be added before the vote.
I have no doubt Magpul will leave. We will defeat this in the next election. Hickenlooper said that this vote will not put his job at risk, we need to prove him wrong. You represent the people, not control them, Hickenlooper.
Just to add insult to injury, read this article
I've read HB 1224 but it states 10 rounds, is there an amended version? It appears the bill allows for grandfathered 30 round magazines. One article states you're allowed to keep your magazines, but can't sell or transfer them. Are current owners allowed to use them as well?
If so, just imagine how many "new" magazines will be sold before the bill takes effect. This bill has done the opposite of its intention. It has placed thousand of new high capacity magazines in the hand's of CO citizens!

Those Dems aren't so smart. I guess this is a bill designed for future generations hoping they will have a complete gun ban in the next 1-2 generations.
Wait....so those who own 16+ round magazines before the bill becomes law can still use them? I didn't read anything about how many rounds can be loaded in those high capacity magazines. How the heck will they enforce this? How will they know if you already owned a mag or not regardless of mag serial # and date?
"IF A PERSON WHO IS ALLEGED TO HAVE VIOLATED SUBSECTION
24 (1) OF THIS SECTION ASSERTS THAT HE OR SHE IS PERMITTED TO LEGALLY
25 POSSESS A LARGE-CAPACITY MAGAZINE PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH (a) OF
26 THIS SUBSECTION (2), THE PROSECUTION HAS THE BURDEN OF PROOF TO
27 REFUTE THE ASSERTION."

We have plenty of fine manufacturing spaces and hard working Americans seeking employment here in Nevada. Magpul would be a wonderful addition to AR/AK parts manufacturers and distributors that already call the Battle Born state home.![]()
