I had not seen one until I bought one. This is not one of the post 1990 full lug revolvers, but a standard lug -3 from 1970 (sn: K958xxx) with beautiful walnut targets. Just how unusual/rare is a gun of this configuration?
I was just looking at this thread of very nice looking long barrel Model 17's and have a question. Some of them have the speed loader cutout and I was wondering if you believe them to be original to the guns?
I have a Model 48 in 8 3/8 and it has the target grips with the speed loader cutout and I don't know if they could be original or not?
Thanks, Brian
Good question! Mine has the magnas seen above that are numbered to the gun. I have since taken them off and put them in the box, replacing them with new targets. The magnas are so small for my hand and that long barrel just wants to droop. That is fixed with the targets.
