Well my original intent was to collect 1 of every engineering change in the pre war 32-20 targets. I now realize that some are going to be very hard to come by due to the limited number manufactured. I’ve gotten lucky with 1902,1902 1st change,1905 3rd and 4th change. But the 1899 and 1905 1st &2nd changes are eluding me.So I picking up a shooter 1899 M&P it’s all matching with shiny bore and chambers. She’s rough on the outside but surprisingly clean under the side plate. Sn#2862 5in.

Nice collection!

I've got a 1902 1st change nickel 5". Love it. Never lettered it, but I'd guess it went out around '04-'05 ish. It's been quite difficult finding brass for it, but that's the only drawback for me. Loads of fun to shoot.

I have been collecting them for some time and finally found a 1899 32 Winchester Target to add to my collection. There were only just over 5300 made and several of our experts estimate early K frame Targets were no more than 5% of production. Now we are down to around 265 guns. If 25% are left after 120 years, there may be less than 70 left today. I would claim that is rare. Standard 1899 32 Winchesters left today would be in the neighborhood of 1300 left today.

BTW, this one went to Beakeart, shipped just 5 years before the Great San Francisco earthquake and fire!

Here’s mine. I can’t find the factory letter for it so I will have to post it later. I have .32 - 20 brass & dies, but haven’t loaded any rounds for this yet.

They’re starting to multiply in the safe. There are 8 smiths and 4 rifles in 32-20 now. Fortunately for me my wife just shakes her head and walks away. As for brass I’m set with about 600 pieces or until I find more.
