This black Tyler T4 grip adapter, which fits S&W N frame square butt, sold for
$404!!!!
Are they now cast in gold, or should I invest in some aluminum casting equipment?
I never would have thought that that little bit of metal would fetch a price up in Coke stocks range.

Where did it sell for that much?

I have a couple of the old ones I would be happy to sell for that price and be without while I wait months for new ones.the :)

It sold on eBay. Apparently, as you'd expect, the hammer price varies depending on what they fit. That T-grip no. 4 fits an N frame square butt, most of which seem to have come with the big target grips, not the magnas, over the ~50 years I've been interested in Smiths, so it seems to me there would be less of them to be T-grip candidates.
OTH, most K frames I've seen came with magnas, so there'd be more of a market for T-grip no. 3 which fit K frame square butt. The other premium prices I've seen are for the T-3R, which fits K frame round butt, once again scarcer than square butt guns.

I have 2 square butt N frame Tylers, one of them very early (mid 1950s) and neither were purchased for anything close to $404. Someone has more money than sense.

I was looking at that item to use on my model 28. I added it to watchlist when it was at $65 thinking I might go $75. Next time I looked it was at $165. The new Tyler Ts are lousy compared to the old ones (in my opinion based on an order several years ago). A thick unattractive powder coat looking finish and no markings at all. I woke up this morning to an eBay notification for the completed auction as noted above. I can only think it was an out of control bidding war. The lucky buyer should return it for a refund !!
