19-3 added

Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure about buying it, even though it was a fair price. But I'm a sucker for older pinned barrel guns, and everything about it looked nice. Having the original box & papers helped too! I looked at a few model 15's to replace the one I sold, but decided with this 19 I could try out some 357s (never shot one), and still shoot .38s. Kinda like having two guns in one! Once I got it home and cleaned it up (it didn't take much), I was really happy with my decision.
boykinlp...It dates to 1973.
larry...I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. For the last two weeks I've been busy caring for a sick friend.
Curtis...I'd like to own a .44 some day. Preferably a 29 or 29-1 (I'm sure I'll have to settle on a 29-2 or later!)
As far as my photography, this one just didn't turn out well. Not sure if I had too much light or what. But I almost didn't post the pictures. Of course, I know the unwritten rules here. We want pics! Anyway, that's the latest addition. Thanks again for everyone's kind words! No matter how busy I am, I always make a little time to come here and see what's going on with my Smith family. Ya'll are some good medicine! And good friends!:)

that is a perfect example of what is one of the finest handguns ever turned out by anyone...
I think you did well getting that instead of the 15, of course, you can always get a 15:)

Alright, now you are just making me feel bad. My best pictures have never turned out that good, but they were not up to your normal standards? I aspire to take pictures as bad as yours someday.:)

The grips are really, really nice. Those are some of the best looking grips that I have seen. The rest of the gun looks great as well. I have bought guns in the past just to get the grips. I turn custom duck calls as a hobby and work with some great looking wood. Years ago, when I would purchase a particular gun, I would ask the salesman to get down four or five of the same gun. We would open the boxes, and I would pick the gun with the best looking wood.
