Whatever they are charging it is worth it. A nickel 2.5 inch M19 is a must own gun for every S&W collector. One of the most beautiful revolvers ever made IMO.

I just saw a real nice one on the used-consignment shelf here locally for $750. Almost bought it myself and I don't particularly like shiny guns plus I already own two blued ones.
I bought one a few months ago for $700.00 but I feel like I got a smoking deal. I would think between $800.00 to $1,000.00 would be average in very good condition.
Wow, that's a great price, especially in CA. A blued shooter will go for at least that.

I love the model 19's particularly with the 2 1/2" barrel. But I end up owning the stainless model 66's instead. My only nickel revolver is a Detective Special. But I'd jump on a model 19 4" or less for $700 or so.
I picked a up 19-2 off GB for about $700 before Covid. I expect mine would be closer to $1000 these days.
This is true, lots of nickel guns shipped in blue boxes. I have a Model 19 and a Model 10, both nickel guns shipped in blue boxes in 1980–81.
I sold one of mine today with banana grips for $1400...

Nice piece, John. I'd have been all over that one, too. I would have to say 19s and 66s are my favorites. I've got a few of them...
I'd say $800 to $1000, depending upon condition. If it turns out the box is the one this Model 19-3 shipped in, then add a couple hundred. If you are in one of the not-gun-friendly states, then add more $.
I agree...a Model 19 snubby is a must have revolver! You didn't mention condition, but I would expect a nice nickel 19-3 to fetch $1K or more these days. I was extremely fortunate to pick up this minty nickel Model 19-4 (ca. 1978) a few years ago at a local gun shop for $550. I wouldn't take $1K for it now. I have a few shiny revolvers, but this is one of my favorites! The box, if in decent condition, is also worth some money on its own ($60-$80+).

I have owned a couple blue 19s, just never carried them. Great shooter though! If I see a nice nickel one for a fair price I will probably buy it.

Well, I'm sure it is gone now. But I would love that to complement my Nickel 4" Model 19-4!
What general locality are you in? I hate that I am unable to purchase out-of-state revolvers here in CA. Would love to find one locally!

I've pretty much stopped buying new guns as I have filled just about every itch there was to scratch - until 4 or 5 months ago - lol 
. That exception was when my neighbor showed me his unfired (except for Factory testing of course) 2.5" Blued, RB, M19-4 in pristine condition. I simply could not let it remain in his safe - as he had no love for it anymore.
The next day it was mine and I have already put a few hundred rounds through it. Love it! I won't tell you what I paid for it, it would make many here cry! LOL!! He owed me a few favors and giving me a great price on a gun he no longer wanted was his way of "repaying me".
The M19's and 66's with the 2.5" and 3" bbls. are just great guns!
