I picked up a nice 19-4 today. Has the box and papers. Got out the door $420. :D Best I can find this gun was made 1980. Serial 70K8XXX Box says FIN BT and Stock ST. What does BT mean? Blue ? - ST Standard Target? I think the grips are correct for 1980.

$420 and you got everything but the tools? I'd say you did better than OK.
I paid a few dollars more than that for a slightly finish-challenged no-dash with Pachmayrs on it.

Yeah unfortunately no tools. Has the papers and the wax paper. Box label serial # matches the gun.

gaspipes did you run outta that LGS .. excellent buy !! Keep your eye out on Ebay for a set of tools, Post in our WTB section, I bet a fellow member could get you straight on the tools. Excellent find !!

I have a nickel finished 19-4 manufactured in 1979 with the same stocks as your. The box on mine is silver for the nickel and only has a "T" in the label square for stock.

You have a nice specimen and paid a hundred less than I did on price. On the Model 19, I think I would prefer the Blued revolver like yours.

Neither of ours appear to have the target hammer or trigger.

Congrats on a great price and a beautiful revolver.

This 19-4 is my first pinned and recessed S&W. I've got some nice ones. I've even got a very nice 19-7 3" V-Comp. I've got a nice 36-1, barrel is pinned on that one, no recessed cylinder though. It's a 1976-77 mfg. It's like new also. I have a small collection of S&W wheel guns, like 10 total, but they are all nice examples. ;) Pic below of the 36-1 I scored.

Great find on the m19 sometimes you snag one at a great price. You did for sure. Never seen a 19-7 v comp got a pic or more info?

It's a PC gun. 3" barrel. Got a front night sight that is not glowing. Has tool steel trigger and tool steel hammer mounted firing pin hammer. Here's a couple quick and dirty pics on the pool table. I don't know it's age, mid to late 90's maybe.

.38 specials do not have recessed cylinders.
