19-5 Range report

I picked up a used 19-5 6" from a fellow S&W forum member. Tonight I finally got to go to the range with it. It's certainly a shooter. 15 yards double action 158 GR handloads

This is with Federal 158 GR .357 Mag also double action and 15 yards.

I'm having a nice leather holster made for it and will carry it on occasion. Just because revolvers are cool that way.

Are those grips as gorgeous as they look in that partially obstructed photo?

The grips are very nice, and have a date stamped on them, that I assume is the DOB of the gun.

Try it in SA mode. You may be surprised just how accurate a .357 can be.

Gun writer Jeff Cooper praised the six-inch M-19 as being a good blend of power and portability. Said it made a good sidearm for the trail.
