Mike Curtis built 1911 for bullseye target work as it was during competition with an optic and lots of bullseye dirt and now with open sights. RIA lower with Nighthawk .22 conversion upper below that.

An M7 holster like that one has carried mine a lot of miles, starting with gasoline powered M48A2C tanks, through all the M60 series, Sheridans and finally, the early versions of M1 Abrams.

Even after I had to give up the tank for a jeep as First Sergeant, I preferred the shoulder holster as I could put that on before all the LBE. It may not have been stylish, but it was practical.

I carried an M9 as a HMMWV turret gunner on my flack jacket. A staff NCO who had served in Desert Storm had his M9 in an issue tanker holster and I always thought it was pretty neat. Some 20 years later I came across a deal on one. Better late than never.
