Those are some mighty fine Colt's you have there.

I carried an M9 as a HMMWV turret gunner on my flack jacket. A staff NCO who had served in Desert Storm had his M9 in an issue tanker holster and I always thought it was pretty neat. Some 20 years later I came across a deal on one. Better late than never. An M7 holster like that one has carried mine a lot of miles, starting with gasoline powered M48A2C tanks, through all the M60 series, Sheridans and finally, the early versions of M1 Abrams.
Even after I had to give up the tank for a jeep as First Sergeant, I preferred the shoulder holster as I could put that on before all the LBE. It may not have been stylish, but it was practical.
