Parts i am so glad you asked this. i just posted about this on Friday. I braved a snow storm saturday morning and went back to one of my dealers and picked one of these up. It was a trade in from a Smith rep, as the dealer is literally 20 minutes from Smith across the MA line into CT. I saw it in his used case on Friday. I have been interested in these since they appeared on the web site but i never saw one out for sale until Friday.
Anyway it had a tag on it for $750(it was price tagged $1150 on the box) and it was literally brand new. I lubed it last night and I put 200 rounds through it this morning-150 230 grain FMJ wwb and 50 185 wwb fmj. Bottom line-get one!! It ran w/o a hitch, was one hole accurate at 15 yards. I cannot wait to **** this pistol again.

Oops i mean "shoot" the pistol. Although i have bought dozens of pistols, shot them, cleaned them, traded them i can't **** them yet. If i could it would have saved me alot of $$ over the years.

Finally, my first post! Something I can contribute.

I saw the Pro last year at the Shot Show and told my local dealer to get me on ASAP. I have the only one in SW. Missouri that I have heard of.

It shoots great, better than I do (which is my standard) The only feature I added was a S&A magwell. The grips are stippled with palm swells that fit the hand well. The fiber optics help older eyes. Fit, finish and function are superb.

THANKS GUYS,
YOUR INFO HERE IS VERY HELFUL. HEY RUNDEL DID THE S&A MAGWEL FIT VERY WELL AND EASILY? SOUNDS LIKE THIS GUN MIGHT BE SOMETHING TO LOOK INTO.

Sorry Partsguy, been away from the main computer for a few days.

The S&A dropped in perfectly. No fitting was required. AS always, your mileage may vary....

Had a chance to shoot the Pro Series 1911 a little over a month ago when my favorite dealer had a S&W demo day. Unfortunately the rear sight was loose so I couldn't give it a really good test; rep tried to get it tightened but it wouldn't cooperate. However he also brought a PC 1911 with him and that I gave a very thorough workout.

This is a full 50 rounds at 10 yards:
