I have a Brazilian 1937, looking for period grips. Which lanyard loop was stock? I have a flat and a round any info will be appreciated.

Hello Dave,

Here's one that I think is pretty well stock with the grips and swivel...

... but this shot doesn't show it well. I think a lot of the swivels were removed to fit different grips to the gun.

The correct stocks are getting pricey and are sometimes used up for the emblems.

It should have a rounded rectangular lanyard ring, if that makes sense. The stocks in the photo are correct, many were swapped out for the smooth 1917 Army stocks by who knows who.

There were two groups of Brazilian 1917s. The ones shipped in the late '30s were built on the then current flattop N frame and would have had the large medallion service grips, as shown in GF's post.

Another shipment of Brazilians went out in 1946. These were built on WW I frames with the round top frame and could have the WW I style smooth grips.

Does your revolver have the flat or round top frame?
