It supposedly has the heat treated cylinder and I want to shoot it.
I bought some Cowboy Choice ammo with a 200Gr. RNFP with a muzzle velocity of 540 FPS. It should be a safe load for my revolver. It is in top shape. Just want to put it on paper at 25 yards. Probably will shoot only 6 rds. Anyone else shoot a 44HE 2nd model Target? Big Larry

I shoot my 1st model TL with reloads of my own and it seems to do just fine with them. The loads are probably just a little hotter at around 750 fps they are the Keith style 255gr SWC.

Larry the load will be just fine. I use a Lee 200 gr RNFP with 6.0 gr of Unique and it shoots great.

Beautiful gun, but not so perfect that you can't shoot it as much as you like without hurting the value any. I would not be the least afraid of shooting 200 grain lead SWC at 800 fps out of that one. I am more concerned about shooting low velocity rounds, and getting a bullet stuck in the bore.

Very nice gun big Larry! Sounds like your choice of ammo is very light.... Shoot away and try a few a little further away too, I am sure you will be very pleased with yourself. Enjoy

With that bullet, I think it's a better killer than .455 Colt.

My buddy has a 2nd target, man that thing is easy to shoot well. We don't shoot high power loads but don't sweat it either. 6.5 grains unique all day.
