What happened to Spencer?
I was wondering how the Season 2 opener would address so many aspects of the last episode of Season 1. Delivered -- that Taylor Sheridan can really write!
From what I've seen in print, Spencer doesn't get back home during the second season of 1923. Sounds ridiculous don't it? Mom and Dad have to fend for themselves without Spencer's help the whole season. Maybe what I've read is exaggerated. Let's hope so. Spencer must be walking backwards.
I forgot to watch the opening episode of 1923 season 2 Sunday night but will watch soon. I seen lots of complaints from people over unnecessary violent scenes they said. I'll watch it tomorrow night.
I watched a couple of episodes of the first season. Thought it might be a good show with an old West setting. Wrong. A disgusting violent soap opera with lots of bloody beating. Unfit for human consumption.

Don't totally agree but Taylor Sheridan, the creator/writer/producer of the whole series of shows relies a lot on violence, often absurd, to propel the characters. It's why I've come to believe if you see one show, you've seen them all and T've tired of them. Too many ugly characters and often unreal.

Just watched season 2 episode 3 of 1923. I realize tastes may very but I really enjoyed it. No more violence than video games our 10 year olds play.

Very different world one hundred years ago, with different attitudes and perspectives on many things. Can't assess today's judgements on yesterday's world. Granted, probably not many ranchers bought these guns, but advertising and marketing are among the few things that haven't changed much since 1925.
I don't doubt that many sheepherders and ranchers in 1923 would want a Thompson. (Just like many of us today.) I'm just thinking might be beyond most of their means at ~$200 then, ~$3500 in today's dollars.
Banner Creighton is being bankrolled by Whitfield. That guy certainly has the means and connections to have Thompsons around.

I read a story about Taylor Sheridan and it said that 1923 was Sheridan's darkest work. I does keep you thinking.
Gentlemen, it's called Drama... and all the Yellowstone stories are dripping wet with it. I couldn't abide the original season and quit watching after the second episode. Went back again to give it a second chance and Beth won me over. Now I'm addicted.

Waiting a bit to binge watch as I prefer that to watching each week. Plus, you get all the "violence" at one time.

I can't imagine ranchers in the 20s wanted to fill that drum. No SGAmmo....
The wife and watched the 1st season and were waiting for the second to finally come out. I wasn't impressed, nor the wife, at all with the 2 "ladies" storyline. We felt it didn't add anything to the show and was completely unnecessary. But, we kept watching since the main story was decent. Started season 2 last night since there were 2 episodes released on Paramount+. When we got to the ship "scene" we shut it off and watched something else. I know this behavior has been around forever but I don't need to see it on my TV screen.

Yes, they could have left out that part. I suppose it was included to depict what a truly despicable person that particular male character is, but that's already evident.
Four episodes of S2 in the books. Three to go.
Lots of twists and turns, excellent writing. Waiting now on 1944.
