Valid for Smith & Wesson. Not for the Colt M 1917.

Most were retro fitted with cylinders with the proper shelf to hold cases without clips for firing. I own 4 1917 Colts and the only one that has the old style cylinder is a parts gun with a .45Colt barrel............

Actually the Governor does fire .45acp in clips. It does not chamber .45 AR..
