I'm the second owner of the following pistol (purchased from the widow of a police officer) and was just curious to its current value. It isn't collector grade, there is a turn line on the cylinder but apart from some very slight bluing wear at the muzzle and on the cylinder the gun is in great shape. Grips are serialed to the gun. Shoots wonderfully (as do all of these great guns). Lockup and timing are good, excellent trigger.

No box or papers, but it has been lettered.

I appreciate any insight, I've looked in the usual places but this year doesn't seem to come up on gunbroker or the others very often and I trust that site less and less lately.

About $500, I would think, or even a little more. The K-Masterpiece guns of any barrel length are very desirable, and that one gets some extra interest for being (1) early, and (2) in pretty good shape.

I also have one a K-38 Combat Masterpiece that was shipped in December of 1950. I sent information off for a factory letter last month. I would think the letter should be arrived at the end of April.

Mine is in the same great shape as the one pictured and man, is it a great shooter too!

that is a beautiful gun.
You have my holy grail gun and as close to my birthday as I have yet seen. I just wish you were in California and willing to part with it. I hope you know how especial the it is. My you enjoy it for many years.

I appreciate the comments guys. I'm not looking to sell and am actually looking for a matching target masterpiece to keep this one company.

Guns similar to yours have been quickly selling in Calif & Ariz lately for $700 - $800 range. And that's cheap compared to what a comparable new S&W revolver is costing. Ed.
