1951 h&r sportsman question

Thank you everyone for your help. I got the gun and I am very happy. I agree that if you really like a gun price is not a major option to consider. I knew absolutely nothing about H&R revolvers, plus have not seen many or followed what price they sell for. I guess I should have asked if that price was in the ballpark of what they go for. I wanted to confirm that they are not all over and selling for very low prices and I never noticed. Again thank you

Glad you're happy but you say you know absolutely nothing
about H&R revolvers. Well then you're about to get a lesson
about H&R revolvers or maybe you'll get luckly and not get a
hard lesson. You seem to know very little about handguns in
general and over time you might learn than there are HUGE
differences in design integrity between different gun brands
and models.

I guess some values are better than others, but you generally get what you paid for.The OP was looking for a decent cheapie imo.He most likely got it.He didn't pay for k22 quality and neither did he get it.

Well following your line of reasoning Rural King currently
has the Ruger 5.5 in barrel adjustable sight 22/45 model on
sale for $289. Buy one and just try to wear it out, bet you
can't. But not to worry as it will have a lifetime warranty
with it. People tend to look at various features of guns and
ignore critical issues like design. The H&R Sportsman may be
an accurate revolver but it was built to the old design of
their revolvers. It has the same very small multi purpose
flat spring trigger assembly that is the achilles heel of all
of the old H&R revolvers. When, not if, it breaks you are
done. H&R has been out of business for many years. My
point is very simple, if looking for a good cheapie .22
handgun there are several better choices in today's market
than any H&R revolver.
