After buying and re-selling a beautiful 27-2 that was re-nickeled, I found this one. It's pretty nice. It doesn't have the short barrel that seems to be popular, but I like 6" guns. The 27-2s are pretty darned pricey right now. Especially the nice ones.

So, what kind of beer was everyone drinking when this was shipped (1978). :D

Beer? In 78? No spare time I was working three jobs with a baby and wife to feed.

Nice find. I have one just like that but no box or tools.

All these dirty Harry era s&w revolvers seem to be in great condition. To me they accepted any caliber just to have a similair n frame.

My senior year of HS. I was drinking Miller High Life in Tall Boys.
Very Nice 27 ya' got there.

1978? Hmmmm, that may have been when I was in my Black Velvet and Coke phase. It's hard to remember.

BTW, nice M27-2. I have the same year ('78) in the same condition.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

I was a sophomore in high school in 1978, so I was probably drinking whatever I could get my hands on. Seems like Bud, Miller Lite, and Coors Lite were the flavors of choice. Few years later, it was PBR in bottles. Me and a buddy filled the glove box of my 1970 Super Bee with lids from PBR bottles one summer. It had a BIG glove box. LOL.

Nice find, I also purchased one with 8 3/8 in nickel with case and tools in 1979 with all my other firearms I have yet to fire it.

I was 6 at the time, but I was known to steal a sip of Schaefer or Schlitz from my dad when my mom wasn't looking.

What Quinn said. By 1978 all my handguns and reloading equipment was gone, except for a T/C Contender :-( Things were mighty tight in those days for many of us. 40 years later, we're back. Oh, and what little beer I did drink was Coors.

I was thinkin' about my firearm inventory then....about all I owned was a Sportsman 58 Remington, a Combat Commander, my Single Six, a Model 28, and I bought a brand spankin' new 700 Remington in 7mm. I was a young buck cop, a year on the force......late in the year I bought a 6" 29-2 and carried (and shot) the snot out of it. of all of those, I've still (sorta) got the Single Six. It was my first handgun, and it won't leave the house until I'm out feet first.

Hmmmmm.....lets see .... 1978 ..... 7 years old .... not sure what the beer was , but I can remember my uncle letting me have a sip of his.

Twig.

1978..... freshman in college..... drinking whatever we could afford or get our hands on. This just brought back a lot of memories.

BTW, Very nice 27 you have there.
