Nice Shorty 45.

The Shorty 9 was the one that took me awhile to get. Then a seller on GB had one for sale a week for three weeks. I got the last of the three and bidding was low and slow. Lucky for me.

Which Shorty 40 is yours? I notice it has front cocking serrations. I jokingly say I’m going to send mine to guzzitaco for him to do the PC cut that other than the MK3’s the Shorty 40’s never had.

4T5GUY, the shorty 40 pictured is a unique one. I had it lettered, and it came back as one of 12 (I believe) that was issued to sales reps for marketing purposes. I don't currently have access to my LOA to confirm the time frame. Based on serial prefix "PCZ" I'm leaning towards the MK3 period. I also have a MK2 with "SPC" prefix. No forward serrations on that one.

Sweet. That’s a new one on me. Wish Chip was still active here, he would have been very interested.

Got my excellent condition 40 real cheap, ($460.00,) and local enough to save. Got an excellent condition MK3 parts group for what I think was cheap too. It can be just a “Frankensmith” but it runs as good as it looks. If you find that you ever need any parts let me know.

Sorry for the thread drifting a bit.

I'll have to see if I have pictures . I have a Shorty 40 & 45 , and a Recon 40 & 45 . The 9's never really interested me , I have enough PC 9's . The recoil is not bad at all on any of mine . Now my CS40/10mm , that's the kicker . Load up some personal defence rounds , and it'll talk to you . It's nice to see some PC talk once in a while , thanks Dino44 !

Good afternoon, Trey

Yes, it did. Six with the yellow followers, plus the one PC magazine shown above. I shot the gun yesterday and tried all the magazines. They worked flawlessly and the gun is a great shooter. I'm really happy with it.

cherrypointmarine, I'd love to see some pictures and you are welcome. This is somewhat off topic but, an FFL friend has a 5" version of the PC 3566 at his shop and listed on GB. I saw and handled it. It is mint with two magazines. No case or anything else with it. No interest by me because of the high-capacity magazine legality and ammo availability.

Thanks Dino , but I already have one of each of the .3566's . Luckily I have some of the ammo , both of them gave me a chance to pick up a supply . Underwood sells ammo for it , loaded in Starline so it's good reloading brass . I have Federal Gold Medal 147gr FMJ Match which is also good for reloading . Couldn't you put blocks in the mags to keep from loading a full mag ? The Limited is a fine shooting piece , you really should look at it .

In Connecticut I've only seen two FFL'S willing to pin or block a magazine to the 10-round limit. All others I've asked said they don't have the time or won't expose themselves to possible legal ramifications, if the magazine was altered back to full capacity. I did see a dealer do it once. After blocking it, he epoxied the base plate to the tube. I'm not really cool with that method, being you can't change the spring and cleaning the magazine is a little more difficult.

Just so you know…

There is no dimensional nor functional difference in a S&W .356TSW magazine and its size-match 9mm magazine.

That means for the 3566 Limited, the 5906 magazine is, for all intents snd purposes, exactly the same.

And for the 3566 Compact and the SD-356, the 6906 magazine is the same.

So if you wanted to own that pistol, you could have the dealer keep those mags or sell them for you and the pistol will run on the 10-round limited magazines that you certainly can find. Not modified, but specifically built as 10-rounders, just like the S&W Model 910 came with.

Yes, this does not solve the ammo hassle, however let us not forget that we’re talking about the most gorgeous semiautomatic pistol that S&W ever made here! 🤣
