I thought I'd pull out these old .22's for a few pics (along with a couple of stragglers. Hopefully the pictures turn out. I am challenged folks.

What a great set of classic .22s! That's a wonderful type collection you have going there. Congratulations.

Your indulgence is forgiven, but only if you promise to keep indulging yourself by posting pics of more fine guns.

What no heavy barrel ?
And there it is...The humpback outdoorsman, single line post war and ever so elusive second model k22 first model masterpiece...those I Frame and J frame siblings make a nice finishing touch,

Roger:

What a fun post! I received a package from a certain forum member ;) yesterday (BTW it was exactly what I was looking for). It caused me to pull out all of my K-22's, (Outdoorsman's and Masterpieces (pre and post war), and even a few Combat Masterpieces) and lay them all out on the floor in my safe room and just admire the beauty known as the K-22. And then ... tonight I get to see the same thing, only it is your collection.

What a treat.

Thanks for sharing!

Nothing wrong with those photos and a nice 'gaggle' of early Smith .22s.
Excellent shots of the difference between the pre war and immediate post 'double hourglass' thumb latches!

I don't have the depth of quality that you guys do, but I do love to collect the K frame rimfires and look at the pics of the ones I dream about!:D

Didn't the 2nd K22 (1940 Masterpiece) come normally with magna grips?

robineau, some had magna's and some had service. I wish mine had the magnas because I like them better. But the service grips on mine are numbered to the gun and I don't plan to ever switch them out. Now the Outdoorsmans magna grips (along what that humpback) were not original to my particular gun but were added by previous owners. The grips on that early post war in the pictures are also number to the gun. But again the 2nd Model could have come either way from the factory.

Beautiful collection, Memphis. And thanks for clarifying the question of magnas on the 1st edition; I too was wondering about that. I also like the photo back-drop; very nice collection. -S2
