I just received my first box of 24 Honeybell oranges.
You folks in Florida know.

Sure, you can buy tangelos in the grocery, but these bad boys are right off the tree and bigger than any you'll find locally!
I'll be slurping these down for a week. I'll have to lay in a good supply of peanut butter tomorrow.

Honey Bells are great. There's so many varieties of citrus it makes me crazy. I had an Orlando Tangelo but lost it for a few reasons. Now all I have is a sickly Key Lime tree and I'm debating cutting it down.

If you can find Ulgi Fruit it's really good. Kinda a Tangelo Tangerine Grapefruit cross. It's grown in Jamaica but sometimes makes its way here. Goooood stuff. Mon.

Look it up.

When we lived in Florida, mom used to make cumquat jam.
Good stuff...almost impossible to find up here.

If anyone can eat one off the branch you're a better man than I Gunga Din.

When citrus like that was plentiful we'd take those Tangelos' and Baby Bottle them.

Here's the recipe,

!, Get you one of them sweet Tangelo's from your neighbors.

2, Smush it as best you can with out splitting it open. I like to roll mine around a bit so soften it up, Hint.

3, Cut the top off and squeeze.
