Does anybody have comparison photos of the two. I'm looking to buy the 3.6" to possibly replace my 1.0 shield but unsure size difference. Closest gun store is over an hour away so I'd like some idea of what I'm walking into before committing to the trip. Thanks!

I don't have a photo to show you, but the Shield (with 7 round mag), is much smaller/lighter. If you put the 8 round mag in the Shield, the height of the frame between the Shield and Compact is negligible, but the 3.6"c barrel is still longer, the gun (even more so when loaded) is heavier, and the width is significant when comparing the two. They are different beasts. IMHO, the Shield and the 4" compact offer the best two new CCW options depending on your dress and need for concealment. I actually prefer my 1.0 compact over the Shield AND the 2.0c for CCW ... It's not much bigger than the Shield, but offers a better grip and more rounds. YMMV.

this one is a better pic. I put both mags in as they are slide heavy and wants to tip the Shield off. I have a Pearce finger extender on my 7 round Shield mag. You can barely see the 2.0 mag base pad and grip tool extension.

I like my Shield in a cheap Don Hume JIT holster. I carry two extra mags.

With a 3.6...you would only have to deal with one mag.

I found this video on Youtube comparing the two and the full size.

Here is a comparison of the M2.0 Compact 4" 9mm, Shield 1.0 9mm, and Bodyguard. The Compact is significantly thicker and heavier than the Shield, but with twice the ammo. They both shoot great.

I recently transitioned to the 4" 2.0 Compact from a 1.0 Shield. It does take some getting use to as far as weight. The 3.6" was just being announced when I opted for the 2.0 as a carry gun. I will say that if I am in shorts and going kind of casual, I think the Shield would be easier to conceal. As an everyday carry though, I am sticking with the 2.0! What a great weapon and much better grip and trigger. I will say the texture of the grip took some getting used to up against the side! If size is a real deal killer, the Shield 2.0 has the great 2.0 grip and trigger for the same size as the 1.0. Either way you will be happy!

I bought a 9mm Shield on impulse and it's a great weapon which you can shoot all day. It's one of the smoothest shooting pistols and concealable.

If you get the M2.0 Compact,I'd really suggest keeping the Shield too. Great companion pieces and sometimes you need a smaller gun in spite of everything.

For those (like me) who were looking for a comparison of the 3.6" 2.0 Compact (SKU 11688) to the Shield, I got my 2.0 Compact in last week, and had a chance to snap some pictures of the two side by side. I am not a photographer.

I took most of the pictures with the 8-rd magazine inserted in the Shield, as that seems to be the way a lot of people carry it, but I included some with the flush mag, as well.

From a side view, there's not a whole lot of difference between the Shield (8 rd) and the Compact. The Shield (7 rd) is noticeably shorter.

Stacked on top; really bad pic of the Shield (7 rd).

Width is where you really start to see the difference. The Compact is not simply a double-stack Shield. The entire gun is wider than the Shield. Not uncomfortably so, but noticeably so.

3.6" barrel length (Compact) vs 3.1" barrel (Shield).

The Shield has been my EDC for some time, but I was looking forward to the Compact when it was announced in the 3.6" barrel. I am very impressed with the weapon. I'm running the second-smallest(?) backstrap (there are 4), and it fits my hand perfectly. My IWB holster should arrive this weekend, so we'll see who the Compact carries.

Hope this helps show a comparison between the two.

You are absolutely correct. Old nimble fingers clicked the wrong photo.

The photo does indeed display two Shields.

This is the one I meant to click:

thanks for the nice pictures that really show the size comparison between the 3 guns

Is the 3.6 available in 10+1 configuration? If yes and I move to free America can I buy 15 round mags for later?

Nice pictures all the way around! Thank you all. I have a few of these pieces in my collection, this helps to point the way in what I buy next.
