2.0 Compact

HYVE extension

Raisin does that extension fit the old M&P9c mags or just the 2.0. The web site doesn't say either way. Do you like it better than the other extension you figured out how to fit?

It fits the 1.0 which is the only compact I have. I assume it will also fit the 2.0 but you would have to question HYVE to be sure. I am not sure if I like it better than the MecGar extension I modified. The HYVE is slightly longer and I added Talon grip tape to it which I like much better than just the bare aluminum. It's a lot less work though. The MecGar grip fits my hand perfectly and the HYVE is a little bit longer than what I would prefer.

Hi Guys,
I absolutely love my M&P9c 2.0. I'm currently past 1000rounds. There is one annoying thing though - not sure if it's my unit or if it's more common annoyance - the slide lock operation is somehow weird and very often I fail to engage it (lock the slide with no mag). I thought it might be just me but I ran it past multiple people multiple time at range and every single person had this same issue.
Regards
Marcin

To Raisin - thanks very much for info. Ordered extension, installed it but decided to get myself a Christmas present after all the enthusiastic reviews on this forum. Traded off my 1.0 and an old unused 12 ga. pump to get a new 2.0 9c. Enjoy this forum immensely. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to all! Regards, Ed

My only beef with mine. and unfortunately has caused it to become a safe queen, is the grip texture. I do like the aggressive texture for shooting, but not for carrying. I carry just behind my strongside hip and the texture catches my covering shirt every time I bend over even a little. Not nearly as bad a problem with my 9C1.0 or my G19G4. Tried smoothing the backstrap with sandpaper, a mini flap disc on a dremel, even tried to use quick passes from the soldering iron. Nothings worked so far. I think they wen't just a little overboard with the texture. Other than that I think it's an awesome gun.

I only took down the texture on the left side of the back strap where it was rubbing me raw while carrying. It took some time but worked. I used a sharp knife and drew it across flat. Then used medium grit sandpaper. I agree they went a little far with the texture. The outside will grab the inside of my shirts but I don't really notice it.

Grip texture was my complaint, but the Talon rubberized grip took care of that complaint.

I too hit the left side grip with just a bit of sandpaper, but just by carry and use the right side has worn in nicely. Give it some time, use it or hit it with some light sanding.

Just picked up my new Compact 2.0 9mm this afternoon. Given all the favorable reviews and comments here gotta find time for quick run to the range. Feels really good! Regards, Ed

Love mine, maybe 400 rounds through it so far. Best shooting pistol I have owned. I have not carried it IWB, but did use a Talon on my .45 Shield, with similar texturing.
