Here's where I'd like to see you put the same rounds in a 3913 and see if you have 2 FTF.

I am skipping the Shield for now and buying a 3913 instead. ;)

I have a 3913 which is why I am not interested in the Shield.....

I've never been a fan of WWB (the 100 round 'Value Packs'). While I've seen non-uniformity in OAL and the shoulders of the casing rims. I haven't read anything about hard primers. It is possible that that particular batch got 2 duds. It can happen with any brand of ammo.

Also, while in the perfect world where every pistol would feed, fire and eject every brand of ammo ever made, if I find a particular brand of ammo that my pistols don't like, I simply won't buy any more of it. I don't believe I've bought any WWB in a couple years. I prefer Wal*Mart's Federal and so do all my pistols.

Keep us posted.

First two digits of serial number and test fire date may be useful.

If there is a lot # or date store name and location of ammo that may be useful especially if others report problems

Good Luck

Good point! Did you clean the gun when you got it? Some of my M&P's have come just loaded with grease.

Mine was full of grease, I haven't had an issue with mine. However I have had bad WWB with distorted cases even...100rd value packs as well. Keep us informed

If your carry ammo has all fired, which I assume is a higher grade ammo, then it isn't likely to be a problem with your pistol.

I would clean it well (even taking the striker out and cleaning out the channel) and continue to fire it with premium ammo. If you have no failures, then try some of the WWB...if you have failures, then you know it's the ammo.

So you don't own a Shield or a 3913 BUT you saying the 3913 will feed anything the Shield won't?

Like the others posted, clean and lube your pistola then give it another try with various types of ammo.

Also, the 100 round value paks of WWB are "hit and miss" when it comes to functioning. I avoid them. Plus the wally world Federal 100 round value paks are cheaper and always go bang in my Shield...

I RARELY have issues with my M&Ps, but then I always check to see that they are not run dry before I shoot. I use cheap ammo too, even value packs UMC (reloaded)

Sorry for ignorance...is WWB the Winchester White Box? If so it is the only ammo my Ruger SR9C doesn't like. But my 3913 has no problem with it.
Usually WWB does refer to Winchester White Box Value Packs (the loose 100 round boxes), but some refer to the 'racked' 50 round white box ammo as WWB as well. The 50 round boxes have far less complaints than the Value Packs and look much more QCed.
Sometimes I think the WWB Value Packs are their 'Factory Seconds' [Just Kidding].

It could be the ammo because last week I had three stops w wwb 165 great 40 on my sa xD 40 first stops since 400 prior rds.back to the Shield. I have shot speer lawman. Federal hst 124. +p. Hornady 135 duty jhp. And wwb. Only stops came from the wwb

I have seen warnings on a couple of websites about dangers of WWB having double charges, under charges, wrong OAL and plenty of things

9mm fs ive used 1050 rounds through my m&p all winchestor white box and 1 fail to fire... i looked at the ejected round and it had the exact same dent as my empty shells

Nope.

I'm NOT saying the 3913 will shoot rounds the Shield chokes on.

I AM saying I'd like to see if it does..... ;)

I just don't hear many problems with third gen guns and I'd like to compare them side by side. I'm getting my first third gen gun now, so I will be able to compare what I have, but none of my M&P's have ever failed in any way.

The OP has a Shield that is choking, I'd like to see if another gun does the same thing, on the same ammo, from the same source, in the same hands, at the same range. THAT would maybe tell us something! ;)
