2" M&P fourth change

I have a 2" M&P fourth change round butt.
The serial # range is 625xxx is 1933 a good date as for the year of manufacture? Could this possible be one of the 250 barrels made in 33?

I plan to get a verification from S&W because this pistol has seen very little use and is in excellent condition. Would a letter help the resell value of the pistol?

That 625XXX range for an M&P is a mystery. A large number of them were shipped in 1947, way out of range and dates usually found, for example #627281 was shipped in Jan. 1931 and 618246 was shipped in July 1930. There must have been a batch of the 625K range guns put away in some obscure corner of the attic and not discovered until after WW2. A factory letter is the only answer to the exact ship date for your gun.

FWIW...s/n 6258xx is a 2" RB nickle that shipped September 23, 1946.
