-2 N-Frames are the Cat's Pajamas

I recently picked up a 4" 29-2 and took it for a shake down cruise at the range with my 5" 27-2. If there are nicer shooting revolvers out there I haven't met one. Love my K frames but for center fire the N frames are a dream to shoot. That's my story and I am sticking to it :)

Please allow me to compliment you on two gorgeous N's Jim, and IMO the 4" 29-2 is the finest .44 magnum ever made.

Congrats, that's one heck of a pretty girl there!

The physics of the large N-frame are such that the longer travel of the trigger / longer profile of the action requires less spring tension, therefore N-frames by design should have the lightest triggers to safely ignite a centerfire cartridge. No surprise most pin and other match guns back in the days were the N-frames - 25s, 24s, 29s, etc...usually the big bore ones.

I personally have found the 29s to have the best triggers - I have a couple of 8 3/8 29-2s that have butter smooth 7 pound DAs. I had a 28-2 with a polished trigger that was as good, but this was custom work on it.

The only K-frame I have that gets close to that N-frame DA pull is a 19-5, and I have read from others - those 19-5s from the late 80s seem to have been the pinnacle of the k-frame action - build in large qtys and by then perfected in every way.
