I can't believe this happened today....but let me start at the beginning. 2 weeks ago I chased a pre 42 Centennial Airweight from one gun show to another and was able to score. S.N 4457

So today I am out at lunch making a quick pawn shop and LGS walk through. At the LGS I spied something I could hardly believe. Another Pre Model 42 Centennial Airweight.
2 weeks ago I had never even seen one. So I get a little excited and ask to see it. It's in pretty good shape 90-95%. I looked it over good and then at the S/N. It was another 4 digit gun. But it got better. I pulled out my phone and looked up the number of the one I bought 2 weeks ago S/N 4457 I look at the S/N of the gun I was holding S/N 4459. My eyes about popped out of my head. I had just randomly found 2 pre model 42 Air weights in 2 weeks with S/N's that were only 1 digit from being consecutive.
4457 & 4459. Needless to say I had to dicker anyway and got the owners down to $450 OTD. I have been smiling ever since:D:D

It might just be worth lettering 4458 just to see where it went. I've seen plenty of 2 consecutive SN guns, but I don't recall seeing 3 in a row.
Beauties! And I love those chubby high-horn grips.

That is just plain awesome!!!! And in such matching condition! Does the new one have the pin under the stocks???

WOW

Your doing well! Thats just plain awesome right there.....You should pick up an old 8 3/8" N Frame Display Case and have the inside customized to fit both of them......or, on second thought, you better wait until you find 4458 next week :D

That is pretty odd.

Around 1980 I bought a BRNO sporting rifle made in 1949. It was stolen in 1985. About 5 years ago I found a similar rifle and bought it. The serial is 5 off from the stolen one.
