2020 Colt Python

At SHOT Show media, first in line to check out the new python. SWEEEEET!
Very smoooooth, no lock, refined and trigger and hammer are made from bar stock.
The only thing I found odd was lock up doesn’t happen until right at hammer fall.

After the dust settles, I’ll be looking for a 4.25 incher

Lockup at hammer fall is typical
of the Colt design with the
V-spring, i.e. the Python,
Detective Special, Diamondback,
etc.

I'd like to believe that the 2020
Python. will handle fast and "furious"
double action shooting on a regular
basis. But I doubt it.

I still don't think it'll be as rugged
as Smiths and Rugers.

Python Showing Off

CH4 - thank you for the Mini Range Review and nice Pictures.

I'm waiting for the Python 357Mag 4.25"bbl. I'm also waiting for
all to simmer down, and newness to wear off.

I dont ever hear anyone ever breaking a V spring, but I'll be the only one again, and say I have.
What a horrible design. Coil springs work so much better and I've never broken one.
Coil springs on an install are much easier too. As I've installed V springs and their tolerances and compression are different.
But what do I know. I just chute!

No one's mentioned the issues Colt Pythons are having yet? (i.e. light primer strikes and cylinder failing to revolve...) Or are members not aware of them?

Colt’s has had my Python for a few weeks now. Haven’t heard anything regarding it. Hope they fix it soon.
