2020 Gun Sales

So we potentially get pro-gun, voting people who will patronize gun related businesses... and the only cost is that I have to listen to crybabies that can't find ammo and couldn't plan worth a damn?

Deal!

I read an interesting article a while back on this topic. It's essentially a perfect storm for gun buying.

The pandemic's uncertainty — possible food shortages, fears of social unrest — caused many to buy for the first time, and then the urban protests and rioting caused other new entrants to buy. And new gun buyers are way up among African-Americans seeking to protect themselves. The same is true for women. And the change in administration has still another segment stocking up...

It seems in 2020, no matter who you are or what your views are, there's ample motivation to be armed.

Riots. Plain and simple. We all found out that the next time it happens nobody is coming to save you or protect your property.
Add the idiocy of the Defund movement and you have a populace that knows with no doubt they are on their own next time the wolf is let out to howl.
We have come a long long way from when Mayor Daley of Chicago issued shoot to kill orders for looters.

Wish I had some stocks from gun makers.

Just read that 2020 gun sales are projected to hit 40 million this year, compared to 28 million last year. Based on background checks I think.
Guess we have an answer to where all the ammo went.

Referencing the current guns and ammo shortage, a buddy made a wisecrack to me about "gun nuts" panicking because they're afraid the gubmint is gonna take our guns.

I explained to him that the reason for the shortage isn't due to experienced gun owners stocking up; rather, it's caused by all the folks like him who got a wake-up call last spring. Mobs trashing cities and burning police stations with impunity sends a powerful message about the need to be able to defend yourself...

The statistics only represent firearm purchases which require a background check. Face to face private gun purchases and family gifting transactions account for many more and those numbers will never be known. The possibility of a government required registration of all firearms in the future has law abiding citizens very concerned.

In Kalifornistan all sales have to go through an FFL. I'm told a lot of newbies who have been fed the "easier to get than books" line for so long got a rude awakening! :D

I go by the LGS quite a bit- every time lately there has been a customer in there hollering but wait--

"I'm this or that and I can't buy a gun? @#$%^&!"

"Don't vote for the *G.D. people who want to disarm you- and vote!"

Came out of my yap before I knew it.

Should be a sign stating that on every gun counter in the country.

*Gosh Darn
