When we lived in Iowa our home was on a 1 1/4-mile gravel between to hard surfaced road. I needed a tractor to unload semis and do other things around our property.
I ordered this John Deere 4720 in 2006 when Deere finally came out with factory fitted cab.
There were 6 houses on the road and I took care of 5 of them during the winter.

Here in northeastern Maryland, we have now gone more than one year without measurable snowfall. We normally average a little more than 20 inches per winter, so this current situation isn't good.

Usually not much mud at all. The snow melts gradually as temperatures slowly get warmer.

As to the desks...those were from Miss Judy's school when she was a little girl. The school was getting new desks, so they put all the old desks on the playground and told the children they could have them if they wanted. Miss Judy's mom loaded a set into the car and refinished them. They are now in our daughter's home. And yes...they have ink wells.

Still pretty cold here. Got to 10 above today. Right now in fact. 18 below last night. A bit abby normal for this time of year. Sun is warm and even when that cold the snow doesn't melt but does vaporize on the top.When the wind isn't blowing you can see the vapor. Four to eight inches of snow on the ground last month and a half and the ground is as dry as popcorn f☺☺ts

I'll keep putting up with the tornadoes and hurricanes. The ice stuff ain't in my blood. Heat and humidity don't bother me. No earthquakes so far, but I do carry insurance for such. All that snow is nice to look at, but that's all. We get a little about every ten years. The most I've ever seen was 10" (many years ago) and it started melting the next day.

One-quarter inch down, and one-quarter inch still coming. Most of Texas has been under a solid sheet of ice since Monday, and it's not over yet.
