Bought a 22/32 years ago with a bulged 6" bbl and a re-blue. Paid 150 for it for a hiking gun that if it fell in the mud I wouldn't be upset. Just shake it off and keep walking. Good training gun and the extension grips were very nice. It shot OK but wanted a handier gun. Gave it to a friend to chop the bbl, crown it and he added a Ruger front site base and blade. The bbl is now 41/2". Milled the front blade for the small rear notch. Charged me 95.00 for the work and also fixed a glitch in the action. Actually shoots great and I have the ultimate trail gun. You know Jim was a good person and very good working with guns. He was the go-to guy at the club with gun problems. At rimfire central there was a tribute to him in the High Standard section (Jaybar). Tonight at North Olmsted Sportsman Club they will dedicate the range to him for helping so many people get into the shooting sports and just helping everyone in general. Jim passed away Dec 6th, he will not be forgotten. Larry

Oh man, that's cooler than a fan! :) Cheers to Jaybar; may he rest in peace. Good you'll always have something to remember him by.

What a nifty little resurrected revolver!
Who says they have to be perfect and all original to be cool?
Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

And it sounds like your friend left a fine legacy. Good for him and good for the gun club in its decision to honor him.

Everyone wins on this one!

Its a fun gun to shoot and on a good day for me its accurate. Its neet when these guns come up for sale and can be made useful again. Its perfect for hunting when you need that one more shot. Larry

Very nice job by your friend. That looks like a very cool
hiking/walking gun. I would also be proud to own that one.

It's great to see your shortened HFT. I wasn't as lucky with the original barrel on the one I found... the bulge was right over the lug. :( Fortunately, I found a NOS replacement barrel (6") and an adventurous gunsmith who would fit it for me. Like you, I really enjoy having an old yet eternally current 22 revolver. Congratulations doubly on having the gun and such a fine remembrance of your friend.

Regards,
Froggie

Kit Guns never die, they just keep on pleasing their owners. The ones I enjoy the most are the ones that are less than perfect, rehabbed and/or modified!
