I have a Smith & Wesson Mod. 63, 22/32 Kit Gun 4" stainless,
serial no. 244x9. I purchased it several years ago can you tell me if it is a rare gun, it's present value and maybe when it was made?

Welcome to the forum. Something seems amiss with that serial number, as the first M63s were numbered in the low 100000 range with the M prefix.

In general, these guns are not rare, but they are in demand and tend to sell fairly quickly when available. Condition is important, but almost new in the box it could be a $500 gun (or more!). As a well used but still reliable shooter it would probably bring about $300. Remember that there are regional effects in prices, so what goes for one price in the west or upper midwest might not bring as much in the south.

The model was introduced in 1977, so it's not older than that. If you can come back with a revised serial number we should be able to narrow it down.

You might do better posting this in the modern Hand Ejector section

?

I'm new to this forum...it's been hard to understand the postings and where to post. I'll try to learn.

Hard to know where to post until you determine a date or date range for a gun. With that serial number, we can now tell that your gun was probably shipped in 1979. A moderator will probably see this thread and move it for you to the next section.

Do you have any pics? We love photos of guns here.

We love pictures and it's probably a beauty.
