Saw and interesting old gun in a pawn shop today. I believe it was a .22/.32 hand ejector (?). I would call it fair condition. It had a six inch barrel, non recessed cylinder, tiny adjustable sights, and mushroom ejector knob. Serial number was on the front strap, 399198. As close as I can tell that puts it in the 1911-1940 era? They were asking $525. Sounds like a lot to me, but I know nothing about that time period. Just thought I would share.

Probably 1925.

Prices on these old .22/32 Heavy Frame Targets have fluctuated in recent years. $525 is not necessarily out of line if the action is tight and there are no timing or push-off problems. But if the gun is loose and finish is below the 60% level, I would expect to get it for less than the price you quoted. At the upper end (ANIB), they go for well above a thousand. A 95% gun by itself (no box) could be $700, give or take.

There are no published production stats, but it feels to me that of the roughly 450,000 I frames of all calibers produced between 1911 and 1940, about 5-10% would have been .22/32s.
