Just bought a 22-4 in 45ACP.( Model 1950 remake). It was like new and the price was right. It is one of models with the case hardened looking frame. Not my choice but seller gave great price. Any opinions on this model? Anything to look out for on the finish? It appears to be a coating of some sort.

I really enjoy shooting 45 ACP in a revolver. Have a 625JM, that I probably shoot more than anything. Have a load that is not much more stout than 38 Special.
I do not know about the finish. Originally, it was a treatment to the metal parts, not a coating. Don't know if that has changed. Get out there and shoot it! Bob

When I first used it I did use harsh sprays like brake parts cleaner from the auto store to clean it. After reading about it here I've only used mild cleaners like Rem Oil. The brake parts cleaner spray didn't damage the finish. I guess I was lucky!
