Finally reached 1000 rounds i always just bought what i shot but now im trying to get a surplus. so how many rounds are you guys lookin at?

Saw one guy that had 17,750 rounds of just .22 in a picture he posted here on a different thread a few days ago. Myself Im always setting on a average of 6-10 thousand .22LR rounds and about 400-500 .223 rounds for my regular AR 15's. Probably the same amount of rounds for my .45 Springfield XD.

Damn haha I just finished my rifle's first bulk pack of "Blazers" (525) and now just have 2 boxes (100 each) of CCI Mini-Mags. Going to shoot them next paycheck 'cause range fees cost more than my ammo do

I had some good internet deals float by so I put that 17750 round stockpile together (quite a bit less now, actually ). I live in CA so we are going to have to deal with a mail order/internet ammo ban coming in Feb 2011 (unless the legal people figure out a way around it)... with that in mind, us CA people really can't stockpile enough ammo.

I am pretty sure many people out there have more ridiculous amounts stored away...

Plus, if doomsday comes, .22LR is the survival round of choice, right?

Yes...I highly recommend head shots to squirrels...less damage to the meat!

since I just bought the 15-22, dont have any reserve yet..
but ordered 1k CCI mini mags from Cabelas...thats a start..
but I can see me easily stock piling this "so inexpensive" ammo..my first gun was a 1911 0.45acp..so you can imagine the difference in price...#50 0.45acp for about the same price or more than #525 of 22LR depending on what you get...amazing...

the beauty of .22LR though, is that it takes so little space. the 17k rounds fit almost exactly into 3 of those cabelas ammo cans with room to spare.

figure at a minimum, i find myself burning ~100 rounds per hour at the range with the .22 and it adds up quick!

I buy at least one 550 Federal bulk pack every time I go to the sporting good store. I go to the store for months before I get to the range. I must have near 50 x 550 packs.

a 22 does not have the stopping power as a larger gun but u will drop with a 22 and its cheap and light ammo and id rather have a few thousand rounds of 22 to a few hundred 223.

im down to 1700 rounds after todays 400 round range day
