Looking for the Forum members suggestions on ammo for target practice.

I know each gun likes a certain brand.

So what do you guys find most accurate in your K-22's ?

Thanks

Wolf Match works real well.
For practice I've had good luck with Federal Champions.

22's can be very temepramental when it comes to choosing ammo. In my older revolvers and the K-22's I only use standard velocity ammo such as Wolf Match Target, SK Jagd Pistol Match or Aguilla SE.

CCI, any version, work well in all my guns, including K-22's.
Never had a problem with this brand.

CCI Standard Velocity works well in mine and for a cheaper round thats HV CCI Blazers shoot almost as well and better in some. Actually I havn't found any 22 ammo that shoots really bad.
Just some is better than others.

Federal has always been accurate for me. Even the 550 round boxes at the Marts perform very well and especially for the price.

CCI standard velocity is very accurate.
.
WW Power Point is my favorite hunting bullet (40 grain LARGE hollow point cavity and very accurate).

I shoot all of these rounds out of a 17 no dash, a 18-4, and a 34-1 and I find none of these guns is very finicky.

I don't care for with Remington rimfire ammo.

To find the best ammunition for your revolver you really need access to a Ransom Rest. Without something like that you are really just guessing.

Also, you'll find that certain chambers are more accurate than others, sometimes by quite a wide margin. Back when I was shooting NRA pistol competition I would run my revolvers through a Ransom Rest with several different brands of ammo. I then checked each chamber and marked the one that was the most accurate. That was the chamber that I used for slow fire. The least accurate chamber was always left empty.

I found that the Remington standard velocity was the best but, as others have said, that's not necessarily true for them. Asking others will get you a lot of anecdotal answers but you really have to do your own testing.

They all seem to be different, my 17-4 likes just about anything, I usually shoot inexpensive standard velocity such as T-22 or Rem SV. A friend of mine has a very nice early 50's version and his is fine with anything American but has a tough time extracting expensive euro stuff (go figure)

Try a bunch and let us know what yours likes.

My K22, s/n K15???, shoots well with anything I put in it. I have noticed that the point of aim will change with the brand. If I change from Remington to Winchester for example, I have to make slight adjustments to the rear sight.
