It has a long, long time since I have talked about the little .22.

I am getting low on supply's and , even though I have shorts,
longs, LR and the YJ & Stingers on hand plus the Federal Champs
but I would feel better if I could pick up some more.

It has been 5 years since I have bought any .22 ammo. and that was
the CCI "Quiet" , out of Utah, both lead and segmented.

I went on line and saw it at .12 cents a bullet and the at 9 cents a bullet.
Really, over $10 for a 100 with tax, now ?

Are there any better deals out there ?

Primers for the center fires are cheaper than that !!

What do you mean by "the at 9 cents a bullet?"

What were the prices you were paying when you last bought .22LR?

Yes, 8 to 12 cents per round is the new normal. You might also check direct from CCI on their web site.
A local retailer used to run ads for the 100rd boxes of CCI at 2 for $5. Every time I walked in the door and they were this price, I would drop 10 bucks knowing that someday these would be a real bargain.
Still pretty well stocked up. :)

I really miss the times not so long ago when a ox of 500 rounds were just under $10. Now I know that will never come back but I would be very happy @$25/box of 500 (5¢ each) or at the most 6¢ a round.

Go to Norma.com. Their Tac 22 is selling for $43 a brick ( 500 rounds ). That's the best I've seen lately. I fired over 1500 rounds in the last week with no failures out of my Black Mamba and S&W 617 revolver.

It's clean and accurate.

Still have two 500 round bricks of Winchester LR with the sticker price of $8.49, don’t think we’ll ever see those prices again. My local farm store has had 100 round boxes of CCI high velocity for $7.00 each, limit two boxes. Been picking up my two boxes whenever I’m in the vicinity. Been available since mid May. 1600 rounds and counting.

Without getting all misty eyed about the past I will say that the guys I know that shoot .22s are snapping up CCI Blazer Standard Velocity "target" and having a good old time with it. One of the guys goes to a local North 40 and buys it by the case bringing it back to the members of the club for $45 a brick (500) rnds. I have bought a couple of the bricks when they were left on the table and salted them away. That stuff is 40 gr. lead round nose at 1070fps, runs well in everything I own including my Marvel .45 conversion. Nine cents a round ain't bad when the stuff I shoot in the target .22 rifle is .34 per round when it was available. In the .22 target rifle game it ain't the rifle or the shooter, its all about the ammo. I've only known one guy that owned an older Anschutz that could give us all a run for the money on just about anything you handed him, good wind readers...Now that a few guys have stepped up to the plate and bought one of the new fangled VooDoo rifles, they take turns winning every other weekend...never seen anything like it. It started out all you had to do was keep all 45 in the ten ring, then it came down to staying clean and racking up X's. Now those guys are shooting 40+X's with 5 in the ten ring. The only way a guy like me has any hope is if its raining or the wind is blowing and its cold.
