Stopped by CTD on Monday and found plenty of .22LR available on the shelf. Only problem was the price was a little high. They had a 1000 round box for $499.95. After I got done laughing, I did find some 45 ACP at a reasonable price.
Stopped at a local Academy today and they had quite a bit of .22Lr available as well. Only thing was, they had Winchester 525 packs for $21.99. I didn't laugh at that one.

I never thought I would see a brick of .22LR ammo for under $30 ever again. Anything around $20/brick is a good thing in my book. Of course gone are the days of $10/brick but $20/brick isn't all that bad I guess.

I have been seeing normal .22LR bricks for $59.99 all over the NET and it makes me sick...

I agree but don't you have to ask, Who's getting the extra $10.00?

The cheapest stuff I've seen has been the 550 packs of Federal bulk at Walmart for $23.97 which comes out to 4.35 cents per round (before tax).

You can look at gunbot.net to see all the places that mark up ammo to the $50 or more per brick range. I've seen people trying to sell 333 packs of Winchester for $65!

You know what I do about it? I don't buy from those people. :)

I don't pay more than 5 cents a round for bulk these days. I'll pay more for better quality ammo though. I'll pay up to 10 cents a round for CCI mini mags (Dick's price) but I can usually get them for 8 cents a round (Walmart and Gander Mountain price).

This chaos is juuuusssttt about over in my opinion.

I've picked up a number of bricks at normal $20-$25ish prices at Academy and Cabela's over the last few months. The most I've paid (per round) I think is $17.99 for the Winchester 333 packs, or $20 for a Federal 325 pack.

I now, like I always used to, shoot .22 every time I go to the range and my son shoots all he wants. I've even walked by some good deals - leaving it all on the shelf for everybody else.

I was in a shop yesterday and watched a guy fork over $80 for a brick of Remington. And he was GLAD to do it! I really wanted to tell him to run by my house and I would hook him up at that price. Jeez! Not me!

I went into my LGS about an hour ago and got this for $34.

I think that is pretty good price considering Walmart charges $27 or so for bulk 350 rounds of CCI when you can find it.

I've set my limit at 8 cents a round for the CCI mini-mags
(at Gander MTN), and 5-6 cents a round max for Federal.
I don't like the Remingtons so i won't buy them except for
trade bait to get ammo i will shoot.
Here's to hoping all those trying to sell their bricks and 333
round bulk packs for 65 bucks have to eat them.

After what CTD pulled during the shortage they will NEVER get
dime one from me even if they are selling for a penny a round.

Can't give a price range because I haven't seen any supply at Wallys or Sportsmans Wherehouse here in Las Vegas.

It's a bummer when the only large box store in town where you live is Walmart because your choice is so limited and unless you want to get up at 6 AM and be standing line well before 7 AM everyday you won't get any for a decent price. Because the same old regulars are there every day buying up all the have and reselling it on the auction sites.

ive been finding bricks around one of my local gun shops for 35$ to 50$ depending on the brand. this is not bad seeing as how most other places ive been going are charging 88$ to 100$.

Even when the panic buying subsides and prices reach some kind of stabilized level, I think we'd all better get used to the idea the "old days" are gone. The "stabilized" prices will be substantially higher than we used to pay. Be assured the MBAs at the ammo companies, the distributors and big box retailers have all noticed the market will bear the higher prices and they'll be only too happy to oblige. I look for "junk" stuff to hold in the 7-to-10 cents a round range with the better stuff like CCI MiniMags in the 10-to-15 cents per round range. I've already begun transitioning back to center fire as the price gap narrows.

Went by Academy this morning by accident, it was on the right on my trip to a one day job in Little Rock.
Win 555 was abt $30
Fed Auto Match 325 $24
CCI Mini Mag 300 $23
CCI SV LRN 50 $4
American Eagle 50 LRN $2.19
Aquila and Fed targets at horrendous prices (as much as $20 / 50)
Bought my limit of 1 CCI Mini Mag, 10 behind me in line, several teed off as the guy behind me got the last CCI MM.

Went back by on the way out of town at 5pm, they had the Aquila and Fed targets left on the shelf, and had put out some CCI Longs. Nothing to buy.

I agree but don't you have to ask, Who's getting the extra $10.00?
Does it matter who gets the $10? It could be the manufacturer, the distributor, the Retailer or all of the above but it's not their fault. They can "charge" anything they want, it's the consumer who chooses to pay that price or not.

Prices will never go back down to $10/brick because the foolish consumer was willing to pay over $100/brick and the worst part is, they probably had .22LR ammo and didn't need it. Just the thought of not being able to buy more made them lose their mind and pay 10X or more what the ammo was worth. Now because of what they did it's worth more and we all have to suffer.

I'm sad my Grandchildren will never now the joy of saving up their pennies to buy a 50 round box of .22's to shoot on the weekend. They will never see 79 cents for a box of Federal 22LR ammo, now it's $4.99, hardly pennies.

Just picked these up at Dicks Sporting Goods for 2.99 each no limit
That's $30/brick, hardly anything to brag about. 99 cents each is bragging rights and $1.99 is barely acceptable but $2.99 each, not so much... Federal #510 is their basic plinking ammo, nothing special. I would consider that too much for their Game-Shok or entry lever match ammo too but this is only their #510 Champion ammo.

I got a ,22lr notice from Midway this evening at 11:02 saying Remington Thunderbolt 40g was available. I saw the notice at 11:08 and check it out. Limit of 2 bricks at $22.99 per brick. Of course, they'd already be sold. Probably gone by 11:03.

Don't know what the shipping cost would have been. I get these notices every now and then but they're usually for a box with a limit of two and shipping cost are about as much as the ammo.
