i am looking for the rounds to produce the biggest recoil, just for fun. would this stat be the muzzle energey, regardless of grain size?

No .22 LR rounds produce much recoil, but you could try them in a NAA mini-revolver for maximum kick :).

It is a case of simple physics. The heaviest/fastest bullet with the fastest powder you can get will produce the most recoil in the lightest gun you shoot it in. The heavier the gun and/or the lighter and slower the bullet and/or powder the less the recoil.

Give CCI Stingers a try. They aren't exactly cheap, but they are fun. :)

See above.

Recoil is a function of muzzle energy vs gun weight. The greater the ME and the lower the gun weight, the greater the recoil.

ME is derived from the formula F= 1/2MV^2, where M is the weight of the bullet and V is the speed of the bullet. Since ME increases as the square of the velocity, velocity is more important. Most .22LR bullets weigh the same at about 30 grains, hollow points being a bit lighter.

Choose the round with the highest velocity, and pick a gun with the lowest weight.

I have a .22 Chipmunk that is a hoot.

Recoil in a 22? I heard of a 22 having recoil once, back in about 19 ought 6, but that was a triple charge of rifle powder compressed into the brass case. :)
