.22 WMR Rifle

Well, today I went and bought a used Savage Model B22 Magnum, bolt action, two 10-round mags and a cheap Bushnell scope. It was only $250 and seems like it's in good condition, so if it's a dud I won't be out much. I need to get a picture of the funky iron sights. It looks like someone added them. They seem functional but don't match the gun metal. If I move to where I want (in the county North of mine) this year it will be good for coyotes and groundhogs. Very comfortable pistol grip. I'll try to add a couple pics of the sights to show what I mean. The action feeds and ejects smoothly. I'll edit with a picture after I empty the dryer for my lamed up wife.

Sorry about the lousy pictures. There's an adjustable trigger but I don't think I'll need to mess with it. (Also, I don't know how yet!)

Years ago I had a Ruger .22 Magnum B/A rifle with a laminated stock and dull finished medium weight barrel. Excellent rifle. Sold or traded it for some foolish reason, and have regretted it ever since.
Don't know if that is the model you are looking at.
Ruger made a semi-automatic 10/22 in .22 Magnum for several years, but I rarely see one.

On the subject of .22 Rifles, I have just come across the opportunity to buy a Kimber Model 82, .22 fitted with a Leupold Vari-x-111 1.5x5 scope and two mags, all in as new condition, and was wondering just what it would be worth in the U.S. The only serial number that I can find is 1320.

I was looking at a Ruger b/a in very good condition, and it was hard to not buy it. I forget what model but it is as you described. But they had this Savage for half the price of the Ruger and in very good condition. (Both used.) I bought the Savage.
Next week it's supposed to be warmer so I'll see if I can hit anything up at the range.
Edit to add: I was originally thinking about a semi automatic but that was just a thought that bounced back out of my head.
