22A-1 problem seating mags

I just purchased a new 22A-1 and after getting it home, I noticed I almost have to "slam" the mags in to get them to lock or seat properly. Is this common with these models? Thanks.

I noticed the samething on mine as well. I believe it is normal but others may know more. I just give it an extra "push" untill I hear the click.

Been playing with it and, yes, it needs an extra push. I found if I just use my thumb to really 'push' it up, it clicks locked. Just surprised as none of my other semi-autos need that extra push. Thanks.

I've never noticed it being a problem. I got a 22A for Christmas--first semi auto I've ever owned, but I always sort of 'slam' the magazine in.

Sort of a habit from way back when, when I was in the Army, and we qualified on the M1911A1. Seemed like you always had to slam those magazines in.

I got one about 3 months ago and have put about 1000 rds. through it and the mags.are seating just fine now.

Make sure your mag bases are snapped all the way in place. I dropped one of my mags once, and the next time I tried to seat it, it would not lock in place. I eventually found that the impact from the drop moved the base-plate forward slightly. As soon as I snapped it back into place, the mag seated and functioned fine.
