22a ported

I have two 22a's with 6" barrels. they are factory ported, the rib
is 1/2" shorter. one has a box. These are the only ones I have
seen. Considering selling them and I am trying to price them.

22a ported 6 inch barrel

I bought a 22a this weekend and the barrel extends 1/2" beyond the rib. It appears to be ported, two small holes drilled in a V shape at the end of the barrel. The work appeared to be factory, but I couldn't find anything on-line about it. Well there appear to be at least 3 of them.

I would guess they were a special run for a distributor, I've never seen them cataloged.

Maybe so, I know I can't find anything on-line about the gun. I searched for the longest and this tread was about all I found. It appears to be a factory barrel; marked Smith & Wesson Houlton Maine U.S.A. Maybe I should try researching the serial number UAY8xxx; the year produced might help.

I think those two are the ones I bought, and I know of one in Utah that got sold before my money order arrived, then found one in a pawn shop in Montana, then these two.
