Newbi here, Been checking out this forum for awhile, finnaly joined. Looking to get a new .22 pistol and the 22a is at the top of list. Also looking at the Buck Mark if price is right.SO i would like some feed back on the 22a. Any major problems? I also own a Ruger P95,a Ruger Sinle Six 22/22mag and an old Westernfield 22 Bolt Action

I guess I missed a couple of post. Went back through post and found a few helpful items

The 22A is decent at the right price. I picked up a used one and did not realize that it had a 4" barrel instead of the more common 5". Mine will eat CCI Mini-mags all day but can be picky on some lower velocity ammo. I added a 7" barrel on sale from S&W. It is real easy to mount a sight on the built-in rails. I would add a Ruger 22/45 or Mark II/III to the top of the list.

My 22A is the most accurate 22 cal. pistol I've ever shot. For $250 (or less) IMHO its a no brainer.....

I picked up a bright polish 5"bbl 22A a few months ago on the recomendation of quite a few dealers. A couple of FTF at first with standard velocity stuff, after 500 rds of CCI Mini mags (without 1 problem) it now eats any brand as fast as I can pull the trigger.
I also have a 3 barrel set up MDL 41 (5"Bull,7"and 7"dot), MDL 617 4"10shot, Ruger MKll stainless 7"Bull and a Ciener .22 1911 conversion that I can run on several frames.
The 22A is fast becoming my favorite!!
It is the best.22 bargain you will find...

This pistol comes up from time to time on this forum. The .22 A is a great pistol. I have several thousand rounds thru mine and it is one of my favorite. Most people say it is a good pistol for the money. I say it is good pistol and the price is just icing on the cake!

Thanks everyone for the input.I did look at the Ruger, but, due to arthritis flair ups don't know if I could put it back together.

I love mine and would recommend it for anyone. It is a fine plinker.

I owned a ruger MK2 and now own a S&W 22a. Both are great pistols. However, I give the edge to the S&W on disassebly/reassembly. The Ruger was a pain in the a**

I decided to go with the 22a or 22s.Bass Pro has the 22a for $280.00 and Cabella's for $260.00 when they have them in stock. I'm going to check out a gun show on the 16th in Birch Run Mi.

Thanks again for all the replys
