Well, I'd have to say that is a bit odd. It could be the first 25 shot "assault" revolver. :D

Something about that big cylinder rolling around just makes the N-frames feel so right. Maybe it's like putting ice cream on steak--two great foods that just aint right together.

If you talk S&W into manufacturing .22 LR N frames I’ll buy one or two.

There were a few (literally only a few) factory 1st model N frame .22 LRs. A member posted that they were 8 shot but I haven’t seen reference to them not being 6 shot anywhere else.

There was also the .22 LR Registered Magnum. It was special ordered as a set of matching 8 3/8” revolvers, one in .357 and one in .22 LR. So far as I know it is a 6 shot. We have had threads speculating on it’s where abouts and what it might be worth.

A few British military .455 N frames were converted to .22 LR by sleeving their chambers and cylinders. Member gripper posted this thread on his .22 LR sleeved .455 Triple Lock a few months back: http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-ha...ple-lock-sn-2747-chambered-22-long-rifle.html
