22Plinkster's FrankenVictory

I just finished up my own SW22 build yesterday. Very similar to Plinkster's. I did have the Volq. grips on order as well. They were on backorder and while I was waiting for them I happened to come across a number of posts on various forums about them having very poor fit. 1 photo even shows them with what appeared to be a @ .030 gap all the way around. Most returned for a refund. One guy kept his and said it took him many hours of sanding and dremel work to get them to fit to his liking. For $150 I would expect a really good fit. Volquartsen assured me that this was being corrected, but I want to see positive reviews from regular joes like me saying they fit before I toss that kind of money at them. I canceled my order and went with Altamont grips. They feel really good and fit my hand well. Better than the OEM poly for sure. But I wont get a chance to get to the range for a couple weeks to try it out.

That Halo is a really nice addition too.

That is a nice looking handgun. I hope it shoots better then it looks which is quite nice to me.

I checked out your pic and it looks really sharp! I just called Volquartsen inquiring about left handed grips because my knuckle constantly inadvertently flips on the safety switch and it's ANNOYING to no end. They said they were supposed to have them out by Christmas, but had a lot of back order on other products so they won't be out until the beginning of the year. I'm a little apprehensive about shelling out $150 for grips. I'm actually thinking about selling them, buying the MP 15-22 instead, and taking the hit. I'm so upset the grips are so small! Ugh.

I like those stocks. The factory stocks on the Victory and it's predecessor look like the gun would squirt out of your hand if you gripped them firmly.
I've thought about getting a Victory, but the factory stocks make my eyeballs feel like they've been violated.

I'll stick with my Buck Marks/Mk II's & 41.......They don't need anything but ammo.........

I really like the 7" barrel Buck Mark too. It is still high on my bucket list. Felt very natural when I was shooting it. I haven't shot the Mk IV yet. I have shot a Mk III and liked it too. But would take the new Mk IV over the III when I can find one locally just for the IV's take down and assembly simplicity over the III model.

But in the end they are all great shooters. Even in OEM out of the box form. My SW22 didn't need anything besides ammo either. I just like to add stuff and make it my own, which was part of the appeal of the Victory for me.
