27-2 good price

Not particularly enamored with the 27-2, don't care for the 8 3/8' barrel. However, you can buy it now and shoot it, then sell it later for a profit. The K-22 to me is the first one I would go after. Great revolver and fun & cheaper to shoot.

If the 27-2 was a 3.5 inch then I would be tempted to buy it first. Would try to bundle both into one deal if I could afford it.

Y'all are missing the love of the 8 3/8" barrel. It takes a little while, but when the passion for that elegant length hits you, you will be smitten for life!!!

They start off being elegantly beautiful :):D:)...

... then when a master engraves them they move from elegantly beautiful to elegantly AMAZING!!!:cool::cool:

And yes - that 27-2 in the case is a good buy at that price. A little (very little and very light) use of Flitz and some Ren Wax, and you will have 8 3/8" of mirrored amazingness...:D were you to re-think your decision to purchase it.

I find the 3.5" and the 8 3/8" barrels to be the most interesting. The barrel lengths in between are a bit boring to me.

All the best,

I have a few N frame 8 3/8 that are in mint condition in blued, nickel, and stainless. I know the die hard gun community don't give them much love, but when you pick that hand cannon up out of the box it is impressive!

The price on that 27-2 is a "get it out of the store" price, probably due to it having the less desirable 8 3/8" barrel. The K-22 price is fair for 2025.

That's a very good price for a Model 27-2 (ca. 1973) with the mahogany presentation case and tools. I'm not a fan of the long tubes, but that one sure looks tempting. N-frames continue to appreciate in value so you would do pretty well buying that one. The 1952 K-22 with diamond center stocks is also a pretty good buy. You didn't mention the Model 53 (ca. 1961) sitting in the case. It's probably a 4-screw and appears to have the auxiliary .22 LR cylinder (worth an extra $250 according to the SCSW 5th Ed.). I'm not sure if $1450 a good price or not, but I know that there are always Forum members looking for them.

Its not mine, its posted on another forum. Im not sure if im allowed to post this but I know of a 27-2 with a 5" barrel for $1300 with standard non diamond stocks or Ahrends or there is an option with Cokes for $1800. with original box(pre-Bangor Punta), papers and S&W rust paper!! Serial dates it to 66-67 range.

I am not a fan of the boxed guns. They take up too much room in the safe for my liking. There is on the forum, second page a 27 that the seller is advertising as pristine. 950 plus shipping. Less of a turn line.

The K22 looks like an early one with the narrow rib which I believe changed in the latter part of 1949. If the stocks are unrelieved an in great shape, they are worth a couple hundred. A better deal would be 800 and the stocks in really good shape.

Package deal 1650.00 ( green ) OTD. Tax INC.
