Nice, as they say if you paid to much (don't think you did) you just bought to soon. They don't make them anymore and you bought a nice one.

I actually saw that one on GB and was wondering what it would go for. That's not a factory nickel job (2 on rear of cylinder instead of an N) but the nickel looks to be in decent shape. Looking at the forcing cone area, it doesn't look like it's been shot too much as I see almost no erosion in the forcing cone area. As long as it locks up tight and has no hitches in the trigger pull I think you did good. I would say you didn't get a screaming deal, but rather a fair price for a desirable gun. And a revolver that will give you a lifetime of quality service.

As you might can tell, I love model 27's myself. ;)

I don't doubt that the nickel is a Factory finish, but it is possibly a renickel.
Note the nickel front sight blade and the Star on the rear of the cyl- pic 7.

Still, you probably did OK since it is loaded with TT, TH, RR, WO.

BTW, I will be looking forward to reading a range report on the sweet 27 too!

Be sure to give us one, with lots of pics! :D

I think you just fine. I had bought a blue 27-2 for $25 more than that two days before that auction started or I would have owned it!

Enjoy. I'll watch for the range report.

Thanks guys. Since Saturday morning, I've sent 3 emails and got no response. I hope it's just because of the weekend but I'm getting worried. The auction was odd because they listed a buy it now price the same as the opening bid. It didn't make sense. I just hope it's not a sign...

I don't think you have any worries. Remember it is a holiday weekend! They may be on vacation and not looking at emails. The seller has over 3600 ratings and Has not had any negatives from what I saw!

Looks like you did fine. With 78 other items for sale and 3655 in feedback I'd say you shouldn't have anything to worry about !!

It's actually a 3 1/2" barrel. I guess the seller just listed it to the nearest inch.

As for no communications, I wouldn't sweat it, Seppeku. After all, it's Easter weekend and they might be enjoying a little vacation break over the weekend.

The nickel may be a refinish but you shouldn't conclude that just from the lack of an N on the rear of the cylinder. I have a 3.5 inch 27-2 in nickel (S sn) which also does not have an N on the rear of the cylinder but has a large capital N on the left side of the frame under the stock. Check to see if yours has one there. Nice gun, enjoy.

Hey guys, we have communication going this morning, so all is good.

I had him take the grips off and take some shots of the grip frame. I guess I should have asked for these pics before buying, but you live and learn I guess.
