Looking at a nickel P&R 27-2, 3 1/2" barrel. Target stocks. Can't tell if it has the other 2 T's (trigger and hammer appear to be target). Rated at 98% by the seller (or course, right?). Do not know the year or if it comes with box. Experts please chime in here. A big thanks for any info you can provide.

These can range from $795 and up. If cheaper that's a plus. The 31/2" & 4" barrels are desired more so the price will be more over a longer barrel. I believe anything under a $1,000 is good. If we look at the guns for sale sites some are asking $1,500++. The prices are all over the place.

I know. Prices are making my head spin. If above 1K, how much above that would you go? I know a lot depends on certain aspects. Is $1200 too much?

The 3.5 inch is a favorite with S&W shooters because the 4 inch is rarer and usually costs more. The prices on these have really shot up and if it had the tools, paperwork and box it would easily sell for $1200 in my opinion if it's 98% as stated.

If truly 98%,$1200 is NOT too high. If anything,it's a little below what I've seen them SELL for in the last year or so. And if it's a private sale with no fees involved,it's a darned good price, imo.

A lot of unanswered questions in that description. I say 800.00 on the low end and 1200.00 on the high end depending on the answers to those questions.

It's condition vs price vs barrel length vs how bad you want it vs is it rare?

To me the price is within reason with today's crazy prices.
Your under $1,200 if can you haggle?

I hesitate comparing the one you are looking at and the one I just bought. They are both 3 1/2" 27-2's but that's where the similarities stop. Nickel Vs blue, targets Vs magnas, TH/TT Vs standard. And then there's condition. I paid $850 for mine. I hope this helps a little.

I saw the one you bought and it looks amazing. I'd be lucky to run into a 27 like yours. And yes, yes it does help, more than just a little.

I just paid $925 for an unfired blue 3 1/2" 27-2, considered it a good buy. Hope this helps. I also bought a 27-2 five inch blue for $1000, supposedly 15 rounds through it. Both had original boxes and unopened tools.
