Picked this one up a while ago.
Fixed the end shake today with a couple of .002 shims.
0 end shake now. Timing is good.
Someone Polished this one to make it look like a 27 but it is in fact, a 28–2. It has the wrong strap but I kinda like it.
I already have a couple of nice 28–2 but I don’t have a 27-2 4”.. Although this is not that, but I kinda like it as there aren’t many like this.
I will shoot it soon enough…

A few ended up being polished pretty well at the factory. Nut, I suspect yours was later refinished when the lines on back of ramp and front sight were added.

Still as really nice gun and should shoot very well

I don't know, but the ramp and blade in my June 9, 1954 HP looks just like his.

No collector value, but it should be fine shooter.
Sure. I didn’t think it would have much. Got it for $710 with pres case. Nice stocks. Case and stocks alone have maybe $350 ballpark.
But… with this said, I would like to find out if It is an original SW
polished finish.
Someone mentioned that they did do a few in a polish rather than a bead blast
I thought they only did 28–2 in a nickel high polish.
Where would I find out about this?
Who is SW Would I contact?
Any numbers, email addresses?

Thanks

Actually only the area under and in the front of the trigger, around the hammer was bead blasted. The flats and barrel, etc, are a satin polish. I may have missed a couple spots.

Your front sight is stock and not modified. That is how model 28's look with those serrations on the back of the blade and on the rib just behind the front sight like yours. If I remember you do have an incorrect rear sight with serrations, it should be plain flat without serrations. Overall, that is one good looking revolver and a very good price I think.
