Hello. I´m Hugo, from Spain (Europe). Sorry for my poor English.
Just I have found in a gun shop in Barcelona a 28-2 4" 1980 completely new. They bought 50 of them in 1981, and this remained in its box during 30 years without selling. It cost me only 450 euros (600$) (a modern 686 costs in my country 900 euros (1200$). Qué suerte!

Welcome to the forum.

You did very well with your purchase, and it is a gun that will last for generations if you take care of it.
I have a 6" version of the same gun which has served me well for all these years.

Well done.

Yes, the gun is really beatiful, just the best american forged steel and wood, and with the firing pin in the hammer and whitout the awful key lock (and no mim parts I hope), I love it. The box and the manuals are old and yellow for the past of the years, but the revolver is like the first day that was made. I want it for target shooting (in my country civilians only can have hand guns for target shooting) and of course shoots very well, the trigger is very good, the weight in my opinion ideal, only the service grips are a little unconfourtable for one hand shooting, but they are so beatiful that I think I am not going to change them.

Hi there Hugo, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you found a nice one, the M-28 is a classic workhorse and will give you many years of faithfull service Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum. I went to Spain on vacation for a month in the early 70's. I enjoyed Barcelona quite a bit - but not as much as the week in Sitges ;)

Nice gun, great price.

Welcome to the Forum. Even though we haven't seen it yet, I know your gun is a real beauty, and it was manufactured many years before the lock and MIM parts were even a twinkle in some politician's or bean counter's eyes.

Que suerta to be sure! Tell us how difficult, or easy it is to own firearms in Spain. We'd love to know how it works there!
Bienviendos!

Buf, to have hand guns in Spain for a civilian is terribly difficult. Renovations every three years of the licence (with penals, medical-psicological exam, etc) and you must take part in competitions during the year (under ISSF rules), and shoot over 7.5 of 10 to have 6 handguns max.

Saludos.

Tritonman,

Your English is much better than my Spanish so no need to apologize. Welcome to the forum!

Hello, I am a very bad photografer, but here a couple of pics. My other hand gun is a Morini olimpic pistol of 22lr.

And my shotguns, a spanish Lanber for trap shooting and an amazing Benelli M4, the same as the US Army (and yes, is legal in my country, ha, ha)
