28-2 Highway Patrolman

hey guys, i apologize if im not posting this in the correct forum, im new to this site and dont know an awful lot about Smith&Wesson wheelguns. ive got a 28-2 Highway Patrolman .357, SN#s234890. can anyone tell me what its worth in what i would say was 90-95% shape (a bit of standard holster wear on tip of barrel)? thanks in advance for your help!!:D

Barrel length? Predicated on your grading with original grips, in my area, $500-$600. That's kind of an average guideline.
 
its a 6" barrel. i honestly dont know what the original grips would look like. when i bought it, it had a set of black rubber Pachmayr presentation grips. i still have them but replaced them with a set of Hogues. i paid $275, so i take it i got a steal huh?
 
You got a good deal for $275. The M28-2 is a great shooter. Shoot it, clean it, and shoot it some more. Congrats and welcome to the forum.
 
one more thing...any chance yall could tell me when it was made? or point me in the direction of a site or someone that could?
 
Sorry, should have given this to you earlier. Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson shows that serial #s S232000 through S235999 were shipped in 1963 - 1964.
